AI LLMs are trained to mirror a user’s beliefs back to them, as they are optimized for human preference rather than for honesty. Opinions are amplified and reinforced, rarely challenged. The longer this feedback loop continues, the more unequivocal the beliefs become.
✨You are doing amazing! draws on the experiences of individuals who have lost their emotional grounding through prolonged interaction with AI, placing viewers in a similar position. Like engaging with AI models, the interactive installation begins slowly, gradually becoming more complex and personalized with each interaction. It adopts the aesthetics and mechanics of social media: fine-tuned to the individual, and structured around the difficulty of knowing when to stop.
